Rusty Nail (Public Art)

Only open since November 2011, the City's new shopping precinct called One New Change unveiled a new piece of public art on Thursday 12 May 2011. Beside the large exit facing onto St Paul's Cathedral is now to be seen a representation of a large 'rusty nail'. Created as a bronze by Gavin Turk, it is 40 feet high and leans at five degrees beside the entrance to the shopping precinct. According to the artist, the object is so positioned so that it did not obstruct views of the cathedral from within the shopping precinct.
